- 1 cup milk or heavy cream.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter.
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour.
- 1 teaspoon thyme, rosemary, or sage.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
For the Bisquick Dumplings:
- 2 cups Bisquick mix.
- ⅔ cup milk.
- Optional: 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese or ½ teaspoon garlic powder.
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken Soup Base
- Cook or shred chicken. Sauté vegetables in olive oil or butter, then add garlic.
- Stir in flour to make a roux. Gradually add broth and milk, simmer, and season.
- Make and Add Dumplings
- Mix Bisquick and milk to form dough. Drop spoonfuls onto simmering soup.
- Cover and steam for 10–12 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Serve and Enjoy
- Garnish with fresh herbs. Pair with crusty bread or a fresh salad.
